The Incredible Edible Egg and Vitamin D

Did you know that the yolk of an egg has 20 IU of vitamin D?  Well it does.  These days we have to get as much vitamin D as possible.  In the winter we are all covered up, or it’s too cold, or we are just doing a lot of indoor jobs.  So we aren’t getting sunshine.  When we can get sunshine, most of us put sunscreen on and that blocks the UVA rays.  It also blocks the  UVB which we need to get vitamin D.  Did you know if you spend 20 minutes in the midday sun in a bathing suit, you can make up to 20,000 IU of vitamin D?

Just a little note:  Remember to eat well every day.  Take your supplements and make sure you include vitamin D.  There is a test out there to check your vitamin D level.  But I do believe a 1,000 IU a day of vitamin D will surely do you good.
